a piece of writing ,

Even though most of the people still thinks that Turkey is a part of eastern society i believe in the contrary. In fact the city i was living before moving to London is one of the most beautiful cities in the world yet, Istanbul, actually selected as European capitals of culture for 2010 by the EU council.

People in different countries always tent to ask me about the Turkish people wearing sheets ,which is a traditional Muslim headdress consisting of a long scarf wrapped around the head , anyway even in London there is a lot of woman who wears them and of course in turkey some of them wear it too but NOT EVERYONE! i feel so tired of responding these question. look at me , i don't wear them and i am Turkish so this means not everybody in Turkey wears that sheets. In fact i consider myself post modern muslim who doesn't believe in any religion really but also doesn't need to reject it which is stated as it is somehow.

to compare turkey and London
i could say there are quite a lot of similarities than the differences
for instance Turkish people are very much into drinking alcohol and also like to watch football
maybe family is a big subject for us more than British people . it is not because British people love their families less than us but it is because we depend on our families more than Brits. for example me and my other friends who live in London and go to university still supported by our families. i don't think your parents still pay your bills , tuition's or other expanses at the age of 25.

that's all
i hope you ll like my country

  1. I like your description of being a post-modern Turk. I can relate to that.
